This is an amazing opportunity for a Senior Project Manager/Business Development professional, knowledgeable within the renewables, and solar energy market.

Our client is committed to continuous development in the renewable sphere, concentrating in the development and/or acquisition of solar parks in CEE. Their areas of interest are the Czech Republic, Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania. Then they plan to expand into the MENA region, initially focusing on UAE and Saudi, then Africa.

We are looking for a strong project manager who will manage, oversee and coordinate the process from A-Z, i.e. finding an opportunity, analysing and presenting to the investment committee to secure funds, to finalising the project and managing the cash flow generation of the asset. The idea is to create a substantial portfolio to present an opportunity to 3rd party investors and raise more capital to grow in the renewable area or sell the portfolio to an institutional investor/s.

Responsibilities

  • Search for solar parks or greenfields for acquisition or/and development: coordinate thorough market research for potential PVPPs to acquire & develop, establish new contacts and coordinate with the existing network (including agents/brokers) to search and identify solar parks for acquisition in specified countries.
  • Evaluate target for acquisition or/and development: conduct a preliminary target evaluation and present it to the investment committee, conduct initial negotiations with the sellers and secure a binding agreement.
  • In case of acquisition: coordinate external advisors and in-house team to develop appropriate acquisition structures, negotiate with the sellers to sign the transaction documents (with the assistance of legal counselors) and coordinate their execution. Coordinate the execution and review of the technical, legal and tax due diligence. Negotiate with the project financing banks.
  • In case of development: work on securing all necessary regulatory contracts and connectivity agreements, and permits for the construction to begin, work on various design stages to receive a building permit. Coordinate the selection of EPC and execution of the development. Monitoring the construction and commissioning. Launch the projects.
  • Manage and operate acquired or developed solar parks: negotiate, employ and manage various service providers (e.g. operation and maintenance service providers, security service providers, insurance companies, etc.). Create and consequently manage an operational management team. Assist in the preparation of, optimisation and execute the operational budgets. Participate in handling all administrative matters concerning the local and federal authorities. Prepare managerial reports.
  • Coordinate further business development of the renewable energy portfolio with the Partner(s): Monitor the European and Global renewable dynamics for potential opportunities for future expansion of the project.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Finance/Legal/Economics/Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-6 years of project management and/or relevant BD experience
  • Past experience in the renewable energy and/or energy industry is desirable
  • Experience in using and understanding financial models
  • Good understanding of financial statements and managerial reporting
  • Ability to read, handle, understand and navigate legal and transactional documents (e.g. SPA, LoI, etc.)
  • Strong familiarity with offices tools – preferred Google Workplace or similar cloud platforms
  • Strong team leadership and management skills
  • Obligatory language skills: English (proficient)
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large amount of numbers and data
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to plan and forecasts
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Reliability (act with integrity, and take ownership and pride in the work)

The hours of work will be 9-6 with some flexibility when required. The right candidate ideally will be based in one of the mentioned countries, with the potential to move to the Czech Office if wililng. Visa sponsorship and relocation could be provided after the probation period.
