Our client is a start-up investment fund who is looking for a top accountant to head their start-up operations.

You will be responsible for:

• Starting an investment fund from scratch together with the highly respected and successful entrepreneurs, all operational accounting matters and set ups
• Organisation of documents to satisfy regulatory requirements, inclusive of filing of appropriate fund documentation
• Planning of initial reporting procedures
• Development of the accounting system
• Assisting with the investment strategy as well as the full cycle of financial modelling
• Maintenance of fund management accounting system and monthly reconciliations to the records of the custodian
• Arranging fund ledgers and accounting statements, including the detailed Net Asset Value (NAV) statements and reporting to directors
• Full financial risk management and compliance function for each and every trade of portfolio managers, and reporting to directors in respect of deviations and/or exceptions
• Preparing management accounts and annual financial statements for management, clients and external auditors
• Building effective relationships with banks, other financial institutions, and specialist professionals
• Strategic planning and development for the funds’ compliance, risk management, and management accounting functions

Ideally you will be:

• Educated to a degree level finance professional
• Fully ACCA/CIMA qualified
• Capable, bright, confident, an inspiring communicator who is driven and enthusiastic
• Sound managerial/executive experience from a financial institution, wealth management and/or a fund is highly preferred
• Ability to set up accounting procedures from scratch
• An enthusiast who would like to add value and become a valuable member of a close-knit team of high flyers
• Russian language is a bonus, but the experience and knowledge of full scope of the UK procedures and regulations is a must!
