This is a fantastic opportunity for a legal support professional to join a well-established private investments firm based in the heart of London as an in-house Legal and Compliance Assistant. This role is placed within their legal department and reports to the Head of Legal.

Responsibilities

  • This is a full-time office-based role, 8.30-5.30
  • The Legal Assistant will provide support to the legal, investment and finance teams
  • Drafting documents, contracts and various agreements
  • Performing legal research of various companies and potential investment deals, as necessary
  • Reporting results of various research outcomes, liaising with legal team members to decide on the following outcomes
  • Dealing with various banking, compliance and KYC requests
  • Filing and processing various KYC due diligence and banking forms
  • Supporting the team with the opening and maintaining bank accounts
  • Updating information in various public registers across various jurisdictions
  • Other general legal and administrative duties

Key Skills

  • Previous experience working in a legal, company administration, corporate service provider or compliance role
  • Sound experience in proofreading documents
  • Advanced level of working with Excel and Word (i.e., can do automatic cross-references, table of contents, automatic numbering of paragraphs)
  • Basic knowledge of companies’ corporate organisation, ownership structures and governance, main constitutional documents and registration requirements (at least in several EU jurisdictions like Lux, Cyprus, Austria, France, etc. and offshore – e.g. CI, BVI, UAE)
  • Basic experience with bank account opening, KYC due diligence is preferred
  • Invoicing experience and can keep track of payments and compare the invoice to the agreed price in the engagement letter
  • Has sound practical experience rather than just educational
  • A degree in Law or a related field – preferred but not essential
  • Fluent English and Russian language skills
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills with a good eye to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
