Our client is a well-established home-delivery service and they are looking for an experienced Chief Operations Officer or COO to supervise and control all operational and business aspects of the company. You will be working alongside the CEO and the CMO management team and will be responsible for providing management, leadership and vision to ensure the organisation meets its short-term and long-term objectives. You will help create enduring policies and a company culture that strengthens operational efficiency and generates revenue.

To thrive as a COO you must be a prudent manager and an inspiring leader. The ideal candidate will have an operational mindset. They will take action to enhance the company’s performance while keeping the human factor in perspective.


  • Overseeing the daily business and administrative operations and improving operating procedures for optimal efficiency
  • Assessing and enhancing the efficiency of internal and external operational processes
  • Leading and motivating staff to achieve sales and organisational objectives
  • Overseeing the recruitment process to attract the best candidates and reduce employee turnover for the office and the delivery teams
  • Mentoring and inspiring employees to key into the vision of management
  • Establishing policies that improve and promote the company’s vision and culture
  • Evaluating company performance and recommend strategies to improve results
  • Collaborating with management and other stakeholders to raise capital and carry out other business-expanding strategies

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as Chief Operating Office or relevant role within the Food and/or Goods Delivery/FMCG business is a must for this role
  • Strong ability to become a member of the initial management team and one of the top people to drive the business forward – knowledgeable, decisive, strategic
  • Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, marketing etc.
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office
  • Outstanding organisational and leadership abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
  • BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
