This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercial/corporate litigation specialist to join a beautiful corporate/commercial law firm based in the heart of London. It can be a great step for someone who may be looking for a quick path into Partnership, as well as for someone who would like a more balanced working environment with opportunities to work 3 days per week from home and flexible working hours.
Responsibilities
- This role is a mix of general commercial contracts but with more focus on corporate governance disputes involving director and shareholder claims (e.g. unfair prejudice and derivative claims – owner-manager fallouts and negotiated exits)
- Good working knowledge is required as to how companies are owned and operated, including the differences/interplay between the roles played by shareholders and directors and their respective rights and obligations.
- Given that it is a niche area, we also specialise in defending insolvency claims and director disqualification proceedings issued by the Secretary of State. Therefore, understanding the subject is a bonus, but not a must.
- The ideal candidate needs to be able to operate autonomously with minimal supervision, so strong technical and client care skills are needed – great progression prospects to take over management of dept caseload etc.
You will ideally be/have
- Commercial litigation solicitor 8+ years PQE (only an indication – the focus is on autonomy)
- Sound relevant litigations expertise and UK legal educational background
- An efficient and reliable individual with a good eye for detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Professional attitude
Job advantage
- Work from home and/or work from the office – a healthy, flexible balance is found here
- Fantastic team of high-profile solicitors and management to be a part of
- Well-established law firm set on the growth and development
- Convenient City of London office location
- Competitive salary
- Fast-track to Partnership
