This is a great opportunity to join a close-knit team of a large international logistics company in their head office in the City of London. This role can be undertaken on a full-time or part-time basis, depending on the candidate’s requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including financial transactions and general ledger
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable activities, ensuring timely and accurate payments
  • Prepare and issue invoices to tenants, ensuring accuracy and promptly addressing any billing inquiries
  • Monitor cash flows, and prepare cash flow statements
  • Provide support in budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Assist in resolving any bookkeeping-related issues efficiently and professionally
  • Regular debt monitoring and reporting (age, payment arrangements etc.)
  • Production and sending of debt-chasing reminder letters, further follow-up
  • Liaison with the General Manager and Director regarding debt status and action
  • Be the point of contact for vendors
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and relevant regulations
  • Manage VAT returns, ensuring accurate and timely submission to regulatory authorities
  • Collaborate with the international financial team to support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts, providing financial insights and recommendations to management

Optional Responsibilities

  • Process and reconcile bank statements and perform daily bank reconciliations
  • Track and reconcile credit card expenses to ensure proper recording and classification
  • Prepare and analyse monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) statements

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficient in accounting software (SAP, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid understanding of business financial operations.
