Payroll Specialist – Russian Speaking. Corporate. Amsterdam Filled

This is a wonderful opportunity for a payroll accountant with solid experience to join a top international corporate organisation based in the heart of Amsterdam. Ideally, we are looking for a Netherlands based candidate, but happy to consider Europe/UK based candidates who are ready/planning to relocate to Netherlands. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a relocation package at this stage, and candidates should already have EU documents allowing them to work in Netherlands without restrictions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage payroll for multiple entities across various jurisdictions, including but not limited to Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, UK, Canada, United Arab Emirates with involvement into overseeing payroll process in Russia, Kazakhstan and Beijing. This includes running payroll reports, coordinating and checking payroll with external vendors, validating payroll journals and making sure both salary and tax related payments are done timely with 100% accurately
  • Maintain relationships with external payroll vendors as well as with internal Finance and Tax stakeholders
  • Responsible for preparation of payroll for multiple legal entities
  • Responsible for data validation and resolving discrepancies within tight deadlines
  • Coordinate payroll approvals and funding instructions with Finance and Treasury teams
  • Prepare monthly payroll reconciliations, journal and accrual reports
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company policies for all jurisdictions in scope
  • Manage payroll and tax audits, both internal and external
  • Stay up to date with local payroll regulations
  • Support Finance teams with month-end close and reporting activities
  • Provide payroll feedback and data when required to support ongoing HR projects

Requirements:

  • BSc Degree
  • 5+ years of experience within Payroll
  • Experience with payroll for multiple jurisdictions, experience with (a) European payroll (any country), and (b) managing payroll for top managers – mandatory requirements
  • Experience managing internal and external stakeholders
  • Advanced Excel skills including the use of Excel as an analytical and reporting tool
  • A keen eye for detail with good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
  • High level of honesty, integrity, strong work ethics, flexibility and commitment
  • Time management skills and ability to work under pressure and in non-standard working hours
  • Detail oriented and the desire to learn
  • Flexible and open to changes
  • Ability to create effective working relations with other including remote teams
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Russian
