A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the Group Chief Financial Officer of an international holding, ideally based in Cyprus and/or London. This is a key strategic partner role to the CEO and the Board of Directors, responsible for building and leading the financial function of a multi-jurisdictional holding structure. The CFO ensures financial stability, transparent reporting, regulatory compliance, and long-term value creation for shareholders.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy & Corporate Leadership
  • Define and lead the Group’s financial strategy across all operating and holding entities within a multi-jurisdictional group of companies (~10 entities: Cyprus, United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Switzerland, UAE)
  • Provide strategic advice to the CEO and the Board on corporate structuring, business efficiency, and capital allocation.
  • Lead M&A transactions and strategic projects: financial due diligence, valuation, and integration.
  • Develop and implement Group-wide financial policies (Expense Reimbursement, Corporate Card Usage, Travel & Entertainment).
  • Treasury & Liquidity Management
  • Oversee all Group bank accounts across jurisdictions; ensure transparency and accuracy of all financial transactions
  • Manage liquidity, optimise cash flow and interest income, and maintain strong relationships with international banking partners.
  • Supervise loan and debt facilities; ensure covenant compliance and optimisation of the cost of capital.
  • Approve all payments and credit exposures at the Group level.
  • Operations, Systems & Technology
  • Ensure strict internal controls, tax compliance, and accuracy of accounting across all entities.
  • Lead ERP/accounting systems implementation, integration of fund management platforms, and a unified data warehouse.
  • Oversee supplier contracts from a financial perspective; verify the accuracy of charges.
  • Build and develop a high-performing international finance team (Financial Controllers in the UK/Cyprus, Senior Accountant).
  • Regulatory Compliance, Tax & Reporting
  • Oversee tax obligations (VAT, corporate tax, transfer pricing) in Cyprus, UK, Luxembourg, Switzerland, UAE.
  • Prepare consolidated management reporting, quarterly Executive Committee packs, and Board reporting.
  • Act as the primary contact for auditors; supervise statutory accounts and annual audits.
  • Ensure compliance with financial covenants and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and monitor strategic risk reports for the Executive Committee and the Board.
  • Jurisdiction-Specific Oversigh
    • United Kingdom: SMCR responsibilities:
    • SMF16 (Compliance Oversight) — adequacy of governance, systems and controls.
    • SMF17 (MLRO) — anti-money laundering and financial crime prevention; SAR submissions; AML training for employees.
    • FCA reporting (Reg Data, FCA Connect) — accurate and timely submissions (ICARA, AIFMD, REP-CRIM, remuneration reports, etc.).
    • Cyprus: VAT and corporate tax filings, transfer pricing, cash flow management.
    • Switzerland: Coordination of management reporting and audits with local providers.
    • Luxembourg: Supervision of statutory and consolidated reporting obligations.
    • UAE: Oversight of compliance and reporting.

Key Skills

  • At least 10 years of progressive financial leadership, including a minimum of 5 years in Asset Management and/or Wealth Management.
  • Proven experience in multi-jurisdictional holding structures.
  • Experience in preparation, consolidation, and audit of financial statements.
  • Strong knowledge of tax, corporate, and regulatory environments in Cyprus, Luxembourg, Ireland, UK, Switzerland, UAE.
  • Experience in M&A and integration of international companies.
  • Background in Big4 or Tier-1 consultancy is an advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP.
  • Strategic mindset combined with operational discipline and hands-on involvement.
  • Advanced skills in ERP, accounting, and financial systems.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, proven ability to build teams and manage cross-border collaboration.
  • Higher education in Finance/Economics.
  • Professional qualifications CFA, CPA, ACCA (mandatory or in progress).
  • English — fluent.
  • Additional languages (Russian, French, German) are an advantage.
