Our client is a UK-based business media and marketplace start-up in the field of InvestTech with solid financial backing and progressive development plans. The portal is matching Western investors and innovators in other partnership regions. As they are expanding their reach, they are looking for an Investments Business Development Director to drive their progressive platform forward.
Responsibilities
- Perform business development from scratch in a start-up environment
- Deliver business plans and strategic roadmaps
- Pitch to C-level decision makers as well as external investors
- Commit to the business goals and deadlines in the new product launch
- Serve as the main contact for investors and other partners; answer all phone calls and correspondence pertaining to the potential investments relationships
- Take care of RFPs, RFIs and other investment documentation
- Build relationships as a subject matter expert to provide thoughtful dialogue with investors
- Present investors with the current start-up landscape, and match them with companies from the portal’s pool of exciting new ideas
- Drive investor meetings – via conference call and in person
- Identity and action priority items within appropriate timeframes; escalate issues as necessary
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance/MBA /IT
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry
- 5+ years’ experience in Investor Relations is advantageous
- Team player, professional and proactive approach to work, positive attitude
- Very strong communication skills both oral and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills with a drive for impeccable quality
- Ability to work with a high level of precision in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to collaborate and solve problems that involve multiple stakeholders
