This is a great opportunity for an experienced equity analyst, ideally based in Lisbon, Portugal, to join a growing equity and markets research firm within their growing hedge fund division. You will be working as an active member of the flat-structure dynamic team with international flare, bringing your expertise and realising your potential for development and growth.
Responsibilities
- Conduct deep, fundamental equity research (industry, competitive landscape, specific company catalysts) and generate actionable investment ideas on US and European markets
- Leverage insights from research, expert calls to inform investment theses and create investment recommendations for long positions
- Communicate and defend recommendations to the investment team and portfolio manager
- Monitor and evaluate the macro and micro trends that affect sectors, including regulatory changes, industry disruptions, and company-specific developments
- Actively participate in the fund’s investment meetings, presenting research findings, stock recommendations, and insights on sector developments
- Monitor and provide investment updates on the stock portfolio holdings (news, events, financial results)
Key skills
- CFA qualification – obtained or in the process of obtaining within six months
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance or a related degree
- At least 5 years of experience as an equity analyst
- Deep understanding of one or several sectors (technology, industrial, consumer markets)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and non-financial data
- A clear and structured approach to presenting research and communicating complex ideas to the investment team
- Proficient in financial modeling
- Fluent English is a must, Portuguese is desirable, Russian is an advantage but not a necessity
